This is not my story but instead I found this on Quora so posting as I found it interesting and wish this person could find our forum.
“Two things about me: I'm a hardcore non-believer in astrology and cosmic nonsense. And I was pathetically stuck on my ex who'd moved on like I never existed.
His name was Jake. Three years together, then he just... drifted. No drama, no closure. Just "I need space to figure things out" and suddenly he's living his best life on Instagram while I'm crying into Ben & Jerry's at 2 AM.
Six months later, I was still a disaster.
My roommate Lisa had enough. “There's this astrology app doing free readings," she said. "Let's do it for laughs."
I rolled my eyes. "Astrology? Really? That's for desperate people stalking their ex's Instagram at 2 AM?" She glanced at my phone.
Fine. Whatever.
We downloaded Astrotalk. My plan: feed him vague info, get vague predictions, screenshot it, laugh about it. I didn't mention Jake at all.
First shock: The astrologer paused, then said, "I'm sensing a strong attachment in your energy. Someone from your past. This connection is still very alive in your mind."
My jaw dropped. Lisa stared at me. "Did you tell him?!"
"NO!"
He continued: "This person hasn't fully moved on either.
But your story with him is complete. However, you'll soon take a trip, either work or personal and meet someone there. Someone who'll feel like coming home."
| laughed. "The only trip I'm taking is to Trader Joe's."
Two months later, my company sent me to a marketing conference in Austin. During a boring panel, someone beside me whispered, "Please tell me I'm not the only one falling asleep here."
I turned. Warmest green eyes ever.
His name was Michael. We spent the conference together, just two people who found each other bearable. Coffee, BBQ dinners, long walks downtown. Last night, he mentioned this summer camp his parents forced him to attend as a kid. "2012, upstate New York. I hated it. Except there was this girl who won the talent show with this insane painting."
My heart stopped. "I was at a camp in upstate New York. In 2012."
He scrolled through old Facebook photos. There we were thirteen years old, same frame. We'd completely forgotten each other.
That astrologer was right. Trip. Someone familiar. Coming home.
With Michael, everything's easy. No anxiety, no proving my worth. Just... peace. We've been together eight months now.
I ran into Jake recently. Still "figuring things out." I felt nothing.
Here's the truth: You can't logic yourself out of love. I tried everything lists, podcasts, blocking and unblocking him.
What worked? Time, distance, and maybe letting the universe do its thing.
The person who doesn't love you back isn't your person.
Your person is out there, maybe where you least expect them.
P.S. - Michael and I are revisiting that camp next summer.
Sometimes the best stories take years to finish writing themselves. Btw the app is called Astrotalk.”
she showed a picture of her and her new partner and I thought about how wonderful that was. Hopefully this can give anyone reading some hope to keep going.
best wishes and may your positive readings come true
